  • Six months prior to your wedding have regular facials to help improve your skin

  • Drink plenty of water and cut down on caffeine and alcohol

  • Have regular manicures to get your nails in good condition

  • Use moisturizer twice daily on your hands to soften them as your hands (and nails) are on show all day.

  • Six weeks before your wedding start experimenting with make-up.  Ask for samples from beauty departments and take advice from the beauticians

  • Use a primer underneath make-up as this helps fill in fine lines and pores and helps eliminate the makeup from settling into fine lines.  Primer also helps make-up stay and last longer.

  • Use translucent powder to set make-up.  If the weather is very hot, ask the brides mother to keep a small compact of translucent powder in her bag for touch-ups.

  • To help lipstick stay, use the same color lip pencil all over the lips then apply a coat of lipstick.  Blot with tissue, apply another coat of lipstick, then apply lip gloss if desired.

There are many lipsticks that stay on for a long time on the market today, so why not try a few prior to your wedding day.

  • If you can't wear mascara, why not have your eyelashes dyed at a local beauty salon prior to departing for your wedding.  Please note that a patch test should always be given at least 24-48 hours prior to treatment.

  • Use a good concealer to hide dark circles.

  • When abroad if there is a fridge in your room, keep your make-up in there to stop lipsticks, concealers etc from melting

  • Exfoliate on a regular basis (once every two-weeks) to get rid of dry skin cells.  Always finish with a good moisturizer after exfoliation.
